Greg Pound

B.Ec(Hons), M.Ec, FCA, FCPA, FNIA

Greg is an independent consultant dealing with auditing and financial reporting matters.

Prior to working as a consultant, Greg was Chief Accountant at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and has also held the position of Assistant Auditor-General, Accounting and Auditing Policy at the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office.

Greg was for many years Director – Auditing Standards at the Australian Accounting Research Foundation, a body established by the professional accounting bodies to develop accounting and auditing standards.

Greg has also held academic positions, including Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance and Director of the Centre for Research in Accounting and Finance at Monash University. He was also a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Financial Management at the University of New England.

At an international level, Greg was a member of Standing Committee 1 “Multinational Accounting and Disclosure” of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions and for many years technical adviser to the Australian representative to the International Auditing Practices Committee (now the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board).

He has a large number of publications in academic and professional journals and has been a member of a numerous professional and academic committees and panels.
